About the Teen Clinic
Then the Greater New Bedford Community Health Center's Teen Clinic, held on Thursday evenings, may be able to help you. First, teens are always encouraged to speak with a parent regarding any of the concerns listed above, or seek the support of a school counselor or Kevin Lee, Youth Advocate. But if this is not an option for you, you can seek services at the Teen Clinic, which operates as part of the Community Health Center. The Teen Clinic is open from 5:00 - 8:30 PM on Thursdays. It's a good idea to make an appointment before going. Also, be aware that the process usually takes about two hours, so plan your transportation needs accordingly. Many teens like to go with a friend, which is fine. The professionals who work at the weekly Teen Clinic, nurses, doctors, social workers, etc, really care about teens and will do all they can to help you with whatever problem you are having in a safe, confidential setting. As the town's Youth Advocate, I have helped many teens to seek the help of the Teen Clinic over the years. Please call my office if you have more questions at 508-910-1855.
