Dear Parents,

The Teen Clinic, open Thursdays from 5:30 - 9:00 PM, is part of the Greater New Bedford Community Health Center which is located at 834 Purchase Street, New Bedford. Quoting from their Web site, they are, " a health center that receives specific Federal support to provide services to the medically under served. We have been providing area residents with complete, family-oriented, quality primary health care since 1981."

Their Web site offers the following information about their adolescent services and Teen Clinic:
"Teens are at a special age where they may be too old to be seen in a clinic with young children yet too young to be seen by a physician for adults. Pediatricians, nurse practitioners and registered nurses that are trained in adolescent health care make up the staff of the Adolescent Health Care and Teen Clinic.

In addition to comprehensive physical examinations, teens can discuss health and social concerns in confidence. Health education is an essential part of all visits.

As the Town's Youth Advocate, I have helped many teen clients to utilize the services of the Teen Clinic. I highly recommend the Teen Clinic as an appropriate, safe and educational resource for young people.
